Call for LBI Papers

The 18th IEEE International Conference on Scalable Computing and Communications (ScalCom 2018) will provide a forum for both academia and industry professionals to present their latest research findings in different aspects of Scalable Computing and Communications. For authors who may not have caught up with submitting papers to Regular Tracks, Work-in-Progress Track, Industry Session Track, Special Session Track, or Poster&Demo Track, ScalCom welcomes Late-Breaking Innovation (LBI) papers reporting on the latest research, design and implementation of real world applications and systems in the areas of Scalable Computing and Communications. Submissions from both industry and academia are strongly encouraged.

The LBI session will provide a forum to discuss novel ideas and emerging results, presenting innovative applications and tools, and bring about novel research questions, approaches, and directions.

Submission Guidelines

LBI papers may be no more than 8 pages in length, or at most 2 additional pages with the pages overlength charge, including figures, tables, and references. If accepted, LBI papers will be considered for possible publication as Regular Papers, WiP Papers, Industry Session Papers, Special Session Papers, or Poster&Demo Papers, which will be determined in author notifications around July 8, 2018.

The submitted manuscripts will be reviewed by members of the ScalCom 2018 Technical Program Committee. All selected papers will be orally presented in a special conference session. At least one author of each accepted paper must register and attend the conference to present the work. The accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings by IEEE, and will be included in the Digital Library in IEEE Xplore.

Authors are requested to submit original, unpublished manuscripts in standard IEEE proceedings format in PDF. All submissions must be typeset in double-column IEEE format using 10pt fonts on US letter paper, with all fonts embedded. Submitted papers must include the contact information of all the authors. Please make sure you use the latest version of the templates to prepare your submissions. Due to the short interval between the notification of acceptance and the camera-ready deadline, we strongly encourage authors to follow the camera-ready formatting guidelines as close as possible.

The IEEE LaTeX and Microsoft Word templates for conferences can be found at IEEE Manuscript Templates for Conference Proceedings at
http://www.ieee.org/conferences_events/conferences/publishing/templates.html.

Submissions must be made via EasyChair: https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=scalcom2018.

When submitting, please select the appropriate Track for your paper (i.e., LBI).

Best Late-Breaking Innovation Paper Award

The 18th IEEE International Conference on Scalable Computing and Communications will be offering an award recognizing the Best Late-Breaking Innovation Paper presented at the conference. During the Late-Breaking Innovation session, your paper will be reviewed by a judging panel selected from the conference organizing and program committee. Your paper will be judged based on the novelty, quality of research undertaken and clarity of presentation. The Best Late-Breaking Innovation Paper will receive an Award Certificate.
