Workshop on Current trends in Social Internet of Things (SIoT) |
Social IoT (SIoT) is an implementation of social computing concepts in the Internet of Things (IoT)
platform to connect devices seamlessly on the patterns of social networks. It is a multidisciplinary field
situated at the intersection of social networks and internet of things. It develops solutions that explores
the affordances of social network theories in the context of IoT networks using software and computer
technology. As a result, it creates a “social network of intelligent objects”, where smart objects can
establish social relationships between themselves. This creates a SIoT paradigm which provides an
efficient and scalable network navigability for service and object discovery, by exploiting the analytics and
statistical models used in social networks.
